My first half-term at secondary school

So far secondary school has been good. It’s very different from junior school, but in a good way. These are the clubs I go to:

Drama
Pop, Rock and Soul Band
Musical theatre
Academy
Book Club (free drink and biscuits! and you get to do displays and stuff)
Dance
Ukelele

Most lessons I enjoy as they are fun. I will be doing Dance in PE soon, which will be good. I’m not too keen on Science, as we have not done many experiments recently.

I have a lift pass, which is cool. My friends like coming in the lift with me.

This is my art project.

I’m excited because on Friday I’m going to Guide camp, which is pirate-themed, but I have to sleep on a mattress on the floor. It’s indoors – not real camping! I have a long list of things I need to take, so I’m taking a massive suitcase!

Me after I've just been in the sea

Calm blue sea, pebbly coves. I had 10 days of that. Luxury. After visiting Barcelona we stayed at a camp-site near the Spanish border. It was amazing, our tent was at the top of some steps and at the bottom was a private cove.So it was tempting to go in the sea. It was surprisingly warm so we were in it at 9.30 at night once. The sea was good for snorkelling – I saw a variety of fish. And once we went to a place that has a little trail for snorkelling which had lots of fish. Some were quite big.

You could see from our campsite there were two towns, one called Collioure and the other called Argeles. Collioure was particularly nice, and we went to the night market there one evening.

So overall it was a really nice holiday. My favourite bit was swimming in the sea and relaxing on the beach.

I bought this cool hat in Barcelona!

im in barcelona at the moment, enjoying the fresh air from our balcony. Today we walked through the city (well, I went in my wheelchair) and saw lots of shops and market stalls. I got a hat and bracelets for me and my friends. When we were at a market stall earlier, a spanish man gave my mum a china doll for me. Random! But it has been really good and I will be sad to leave tomorrow but not too sad as were going camping near the beach in france.

My Prom Dress

In July our school is having a prom for the year 6 children (my year). I am really looking forward to this because I have already got my dress!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to get the dress adjusted so that it fits me nicely. My mum found this dress and I was surprised, because usually her and I don’t share the same taste…

Now I just need to get some shoes. I hope to get nice ones, but it’s not very easy getting shoes my size.

A New Pocket Cornet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

As you may know I play the pocket cornet. I have never had my own cornet-I borrowed one from music school. Today I had the one that I ordered on Sunday. Quick delivery!!!!!!!!!! Anyway I really like it. Its silver and has a smart case. I have to get my teacher to look at it to check it is ok. It plays quite well.So I hope it will be easier.

Secondary School

At the end of this school year I will be moving schools (quite scary). They were both really big and all the furniture was way too big for me. Hopefully I can have some adjustments made. I looked around two schools and was impressed with both of them however, one was more suitable for my condition.

The reasons being, it had lifts, it was only girls so I would be less likely to get picked on. Also you are mostly in classes with the same people so it would be easier to make friends!! Lastly, I should be able to get in as my sister goes there. Coincidentally my dad also works there – that wont effect whether I get in or not!!

I hope I made the right decision and if I go to my chosen school I will soon settle in!

Mock S.A.T.S

This week we have had mock S.A.T.S. So far it has gone ~~quite~~ very well !!

On Monday we had Maths A and Mental Maths-Mental Maths was a bit weird as a tape was played with a women saying the questions, a bit freaky!! Tuesday we had Maths B and also in the after noon we made drip and flick paintings, these are very fun but VERY messy. Basically you get a paint brush and flick and drip it!!!!!!!!! The effect it makes is quite cool, its like drips and lines in different colours everywhere. Today we had Long Writing and Short Writing and Spelling (drag). Tomorrow we have reading!! Finally, Friday we have Science! Its quite a long week but it should be worth it.

Tomorrow at lunchtime, choir (including me) are going to Birmingham to the NEC to sing in the Young Voices concert. I went 2 years ago and really enjoyed it. Basically it’s lots and lots of children getting together and singing. There are other acts, too. We won’t get back to school until 11.30 at night.
